Ball Tack Test
The initial adhesion(tack) is one of the three a property of matter of the compression sensitizing agent, and is stated in ASTM, JIS, etc. as ‘a function in which the adhesive surface can be bonded in a short time under its own small pressure without using energy such as solvents and heat on the surface of the attachment’. Because the tack is combination of the chemical and physical properties of the adhesive surface in contact with the adhesive are combined, the tack also provides information that can identify and predict the adhesives’ functions in the basic properties and actual applications of the adhesive and the adhesives. There are many ways to evaluate the tacks, such as rolling ball test (RSTC), probe take test (ASTM), and inclined ball take test (JIS).
